Surveys/Arboricultural Reports
Since September 2005, many arb. reports have been done as part of planning permission. Based on BS 5837 'Trees in Relation to Construction', it generally includes a Tree Constraints Plan, an Arboricultural Implications Assessment and an Arboricultural Method Statement. |

Contracts in the past have included assessing hundreds of street trees for local authorities.

Diagnostic Services inc. Decay Detection
We provide a diagnostic service. This beech avenue at a school had a dead tree at either end. The symptoms were similar, dead foliage in mid summer, the causes were different: Meripilus root decay in one tree and ground staff overdosing with weed killer on the other. We carry out decay detection to potentially dangerous trees. This old Scots pine had basal damage. The tests did not detect decay and the tree was retained. |

Most trees need some sort of assessment before a decision is taken about work that would be appropriate. It may only take a few minutes but this applies equally to leylandii hedges as much as sickly oak or an avenue of 150 year old lime.
The advice we give is normally to do as little as necessary to keep the tree healthy, safe and acceptable in its situation. Frequently nothing needs doing at all... and we would tell you this.
